DESUNIV1004

SC13-28 Adjustable guard strap

Features:

  • DESUNIV1004 is designed as a (2) piece adjustable band that can be used when installing heat shields around the CDTi "active" and "EGR" systems SCP13- SCP17/20- SCP23 and SCP28.
  • Simply mount the band assemblies around the centerbody when installing heat shields, these bands are to be used with guard mounts DESUNIV1002 and DESUNIV1003 (purchased seperately)
  • DESUNIV1004 uses a 1/4-20 stainless flush stud pressed in from the backside of the band. Band material and 1/4" hardware are stainless steel. 3/8" hardware is (hex bolt, flat washer, nylock nut) are yellow zinc chromate, grade 8 (included).

Installation:

  1. Connect the (2) piece band at the appropriate position and tighten loosely. wrap band assembly around the DPF centerbody and install 3/8 hardware to maintain band diameter.
  2. Install the guard mounts behind the (2) piece band, spaced as evenly as possible across the rear surface of the guard.
  3. When using the (2) piece band and guard mounts, do not use less than (6) per guard for guards up to 55" in length and not less than (9) per guard for sizes larger than 55".
  4. IMPORTANT! The (2) piece band assemblies should only be used on filter sections of equal diameter, FAILURE TO DO SO MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE GUARD OR GUARD MOUNT.
